Politics 2.0?
This morning, I got an invite from a certain Vic Magsaysay to be his friend at Friendster. Then I remembered him as a candidate for Senator in the May 14 Philippine elections. Frankly, I felt no compulsion to accept the invite, much less the compunction rejecting it. Seems like the politicos are beginning to pick up the toolsets and skill sets of the younger generation. I wonder how the regular Friendster denizens would respond to such an invite.

Hi sir! My friend had the same experience with friendster... what she did was, she deleted it coz she thought of the same thing. Some politicians use internet communities to gain votes. They thought that with that strategy they can gain people's vote...

I wouldn't accept such invitation. But he'll get a higher chance of winning my vote if his profile was open to the public and used the blog. That's the only way for me to tell if it's really the candidate on the other end or just some PR guy.

Hmmm...I wonder if the owner of that friendster account is the real senatorial candidate. Or maybe just one of his loyal assistants?
